For over 30 years, Bill Gage has built a sophisticated and diverse litigation practice in the areas of commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, banking, real estate, and sports and entertainment law. Bill is also a certified mediator and mediates a wide variety of disputes. Prior to joining Buck Keenan in 1995, he was associated with Bracewell & Patterson, L.L.P. (now Bracewell L.L.P.), in Houston, Texas.
Bill has had primary responsibility for several hundred matters resolved through jury trial, bench trial, injunction, arbitration, mediation and settlement. He has broad experience in litigation management as the attorney with primary responsibility for oversight of a statewide litigation docket for a Fortune 500 consumer service corporation, honing his skills on matters such as risk management, pre-litigation resolution and litigation avoidance.
He has appeared before the International Chamber of Commerce in London, representing litigants in international arbitration, and he has completed the International Commercial Arbitration course at the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Law Center.
Bill was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., and a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where he served as Note and Comment Editor on the editorial board of St. Mary’s Law Journal.
He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section and the Sports and Entertainment Section. Bill is also a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Bill has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, a member of the capital campaign Committee for the School of Theology for the University of the South and a member of the Executive Committee of the Associated Alumni of The University of the South. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of First Bancshares of Texas and Memorial City Bank.
