June 2010 – Buck Keenan LLP has secured a favorable judgment of $353,000 on behalf of its clients against the Texas Fair Plan Association in the 129th District Court of Harris County, Texas.

Les Little, a partner in the firm, represented Richard Arsto and Debra Ruiz, who were sued by their insurance provider Texas Fair Plan Association for a declaratory judgment after denying the couple’s fire claim. Arsto and Ruiz countersued and won in a trial by jury who found that the claim should have been covered.

Arsto and Ruiz were awarded full insurance benefits plus 18 percent interest for three years along with attorneys fees. The judgment amount of $353,000 is more than double the amount of the original claim.

The case was tried for 4 days in 129th District Court, Harris County, with Judge Michael Gomez presiding.
